19-year old Jerod Reed’s case will be heard by a judge rather than a jury. He faces several felony charges from the incident. Officers were trying to arrest Reed on a warrant for felony first-degree statutory rape, misdemeanor child molestation and misdemeanor harassment charges. According to court documents Reed struggled with officers, grabbed a small-caliber handgun and fired off one round. No one was hurt. He could face multiple life prison terms if convicted of all the charges.
Trial is set Monday for the Kirksville teen accused of fighting fought with Kirksville Police officers and firing a shot at them while they tried to take him into custody last May.
