Novinger Bond Issue Would Not Affect Tax Rate

Novinger school district patrons will have the chance next week to say whether the district should make improvements to its buildings. Although the bond issue to pay for the improvements is $1.1 million, officials say it will cause no increase in taxes. The money would be used for three primary goals — a new roof, electrical upgrades, and a new heating and air conditioning system. The current air handling system is nearly 60 years old, and school officials expect to see noticeably lower utility bills because of the tremendous efficiency increases made in air handling systems in the pas six decades.
