Kirksville City Council Members have given their approval to a plan that will remove a trailer court that’s become an eyesore at First and LaHarpe, and replace it with duplexes and single-family homes. In a special meeting yesterday afternoon, the council unanimously agreed to allow a zoning change that opened the way for the duplexes. That action reversed a decision by the Planning and Zoning board last month that denied a rezoning request for all nine lots. It won’t be long before we see action on the property. Foundation pours for the three single family homes on the First Street side of the property could happen within the next couple of weeks, and the remaining few residents of the trailer court have until the end of June to move out.
