We’re all getting new meters — every home and business. It’s part of a project to modernize the city’s utility infrastructure — the key benefit in this case being the ability to read water meters without getting out of a vehicle or onto your property. Next month, as the project gets underway, the city will release information about the ID badges those who are going to be knocking on your door to schedule your replacement installation will be wearing. The city also plans to have phone numbers in place next month for you to call if you have questions about the project. It’ll take a bit over half a year to finish.
The City of Kirksville has announced they will make it easy to know who’s knocking on the door when it comes time next spring to schedule your water meter replacement.
