The city Kirksville asked downtown business owners what they thought…but not many cared to share. Only one out of every three business owners sent the survey bothered to respond, and the responses were decidedly…mixed. The survey results were announced last night at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. Of the 38 responses that were returned, half support an ordinance that would regulate the construction of new buildings downtown. The other half oppose it. With the view from the trenches muddled, the Commission punted to the City Council for a decision on whether to push ahead or give up on the ordinance.
