Macon Man in Court Today on Stalking Charge

A Macon man faces preliminary hearing today on charges he stalked a 12-year old girl. 45-year old William Darrell Joyner was already on the state’s sex offender list. He was arrested in the 500 block of Roe Lane February 12th for stalking a juvenile. Court records say Joyner was living with the victim’s family for a short period of time when he said he’d fallen in love with her, calling her his “soul mate.” Her parents made him move out, but prosecutors Joyner still harassed the family via text messages. He has also been accused of driving near the families home and her school bus stop on multiple occasions. At today’s hearing, a judge will determine if there is enough evidence to bind Joyner over for trial on a charge of aggravated stalking.
