Community members wanted for Police Academy

The Kirksville Police Department is going to be offering a Citizens’ Police Academy, and they’re now taking applications. The Academy starts August 13th and goes for 13 weeks. Classes go once a week on Tuesday evenings, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Community members will tour all law enforcement agencies and hear from chief executives. They’ll learn about accident investigations, officer safety, dispatch, crime scene processing, animal control, use of force, and other areas of law enforcement. You can get an application from the Kirksville Police Department. Applicants should live or work in Adair County. A criminal background check will be done on everyone who applies.
