Rural Randoph County Crash KillsTeen

A person has died as the result of a crash in northeast Missouri. Highway Patrol troopers identify the person who died in the crash yesterday morning in rural Randolph county as 19-year old Kayla Cooke of Higbee. The driver of the 2001 Ford Taurus, 19-year old Dakota Redifer of Higbee, was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center in Columbia, while a third passenger, 19-year old Dylen Gordon of Moberly refused medical treatment. An online crash report does not indicate whether speed was a factor in the crash, but it does say Redifer lost control of the Taurus in a curve on a county road, struck a tree and overturned. Cooke was pronounced dead at the scene. Four other people have died on northeast Missouri roads this year.
