Drunk Driver To Prison

A man accused in a deadly crash — now serving prison-time.

22 year old Damon Hemmerling of La Plata will be behind bars until he’s 30 — he got seven years — after admitting he drove drunk and caused a wreck back in January that killed a man. Hemmerling pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. He was driving on Highway 156 west of La Plata — when he veered into the other lane — hitting a van driven by 28 year old Wesley Rehm. Rehm died in the wreck. Hemmerling also driving while his license was suspened.
