Right to Work Fails in Veto Session

The Governor is claiming a victory. Governor Nixon says the failure of Missouri lawmakers to override his veto of Right-to-Work legislation is a victory for Missouri workers, families and businesses.  The Governor says the veto sends a clear message to the rest of the country that Missouri stands by its workers and opposes attempts to cut wages and weaken the middle class.  The General Assembly was 13 votes shy of the two-thirds majority needed for an override. Missouri’s Chamber president & CEO expressed his disappointment, saying the state will continue to be overlooked for job creation and business expansion opportunities.
