Trial for Arson Suspect to Proceed

The man accused of starting a fire in downtown Oskaloosa will go to trial.

Danny Logan, 24, of Des Moines, is accused of setting the fire in May, which destroyed a sporting goods store and a downtown office. Logan actually reported the fire, by going to the Mahaska County Dispatch Center. He did so with severely burned hands. After appearing at a competency hearing, it was determined that Logan was competent, and that the case against him will proceed. An arraignment is scheduled for this week.
