Kirksville man Caught with Meth

A Kirksville man who tried to get away from the Missouri State Highway Patrol is facing drug charges. A trooper tried to stop 35-year-old James D. Wilhite, for a minor traffic infraction, but White didn’t pull over. The trooper later located the suspect’s vehicle parked in the roadway at the intersection of Wall and Porter streets. After placing White under arrest the trooper searched the suspect and found a plastic baggy containing methamphetamine. A further search of the vehicle turned up a bag of marijuana and more methamphetamine. White has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor traffic offense for leaving his vehicle in a roadway.
