Hunger Banquet Tonight

A local agency is using the amount of food on your plate to show the effects of poverty…

The Community Action Partnership of Northeast Missouri is inviting the public to join them this evening for a new event. The Hunger Banquet is from 6-8 p.m. at the Catholic Newman Center in Kirksville. It’s an interactive meal that explores the dynamics of hunger and poverty in our local community. Guests will receive a meal that corresponds with the economic status they draw. It’s a creative way to educate the community on what poverty actually is. The event is free but seating is limited. The agency asks if you are interested in attending to reserve your spot ahead of time. You can call the Community Action Partnership of Northeast Missouri at (660) 217-3363.
