Adair County Public Library Director Retiring

After nearly 25 years at the Adair County Public Library, director Glenda Hunt is going to retire.

Hunt has been working in public libraries since 1974, starting out as a shelver, moving up to circulation, to bookkeeper and administrative assistant, then on to director. Hunt earned her bachelor’s degree in library sciences in 1989, and went on to earn her master’s degree in 1991. While finishing her master’s degree, she applied for the open library director position at the Adair County Public Library. While initially only planning to stay in Kirksville for a few years…she ended up staying for more than two decades.
