Kirksville Woman Injured in Wreck with Big Rig

A Kirksville woman is hospitalized after being injured in a wreck involving a big rig..

Police say the collision happened around 5:30 on a rainy Monday morning on Baltimore Street Near Rosewood Drive. 60 year old Bobbi Hamlin’s car was struck by the semi-truck driven by 24 year old Ryan Walters of Jefferson. Investigators say Walters attempted to stop his rig when the traffic light changed, but it slid through the intersection striking Hamilton’s car and injuring her in the process. Hamlin was initially taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center, but after being stabilized, she was later transferred to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. As for Walters, police say he was cited cited for careless and imprudent driving by means of speeding too fast for the conditions.
