Man Accused of Killing His Wife May Have Dementia

A Randolph County man accused of killing his wife has dementia.

81-year-old Vernon Head was charged with first-degree murder in the weekend shooting death of his wife, 77-year-old Vickye Head. Vernon had gone to a business in Huntsville Saturday morning and told an employee that his wife had been shot. Authorities found Vickye dead in the couple’s Moberly home. Randolph County Coroner Gerald Luntsford has been told that Vernon’s dementia is so bad, that he doesn’t even know his name. The Randolph County Sheriff says he can’t confirm anything about the defendant’s mental condition.
