Kraft-Heinz Deal with City to Bring More Jobs

The possible expansion of the Kirksville Kraft-Heinz plant will bring more jobs to the city.

Kirksville Regional Economic Development, Inc. and the City are reportedly working with the Kraft Heinz Company on a possible expansion of the local facility. The Kirksville City Council will vote on a financing agreement to cover the cost of the $229 million dollar expansion project. If the plan is approved, Kraft expects to add 69 jobs as a result of the expansion. That could bring total employment to 532 full-time positions at the Kirksville facility.

The agreement also states that Kraft-Heinz will maintain no fewer that 479 jobs, starting November 2016 through the abatement period, which ends in 2026.
