The Motor Club predicts nearly one in three Americans will take a trip this holiday season, taking a journey 50 miles or more from home. More than 90 percent of travelers will drive to their holiday destinations as the national average price for a gallon of gasoline remains poised to fall below the $2 per gallon benchmark by Christmas. This represents a 1.4 percent increase over last year and the seventh consecutive year of year-end holiday travel growth. The Current price of a gallon of regular unleaded in Missouri is a 1.98, for premium 2.50 a gallon. Last year, a gallon of regular was 2.40, and premium 2.81 a gallon. The year-end holiday travel period is defined as Wednesday, December 23, 2015 to Sunday, January 3, 2016.
