Audit Shows School District Finances Good

A recent audit shows the Kirksville School District is in good financial standing. The Superintendent says that while the audit showed no issues, he wants to work on improving the fund balances. This year, the fund balance was at 35.5 percent. Next year, district fund balances are expecting it to be about 30 percent. Over the past few years, the district has spent money on building improvements – including roofing, boiler and HVAC replacements. There has also been spending to incease staff size over the past two years.
