Kirksville to Expand PACE Project

Kirksville property owners can get financial assistance to help with renewable energy projects.

The City of Kirksville recently adopted an ordinance to expand the ‘PACE’ Program, which allows property owners to borrow money to complete their clean energy projects – things like adding solar panels to your home. In order to qualify for the special funding, the project must generate energy savings to guarantee a cost savings sufficient enough to pay for the project over the set period of time. Projects are then paid back through a special assessment that will be collected through the owner’s property tax for a period of up to 20 years.
