Abortion Hearing

Abortion debate in the Missouri house.

A bill is proposed that would stop doctors in Missouri from using forceps or tongs during abortions performed in the second trimester. At a House committee hearing yesterday — those supporting the bill said such procedures rip a baby apart, in a brutal procedure that inflicts pain. Abortion supporters said the bill is not constitutional. If passed, doctors could be fined or possibly face two years in prison if convicted. Similiar laws in Kansas and Oklahoma are being challenged in court.
