Kirksville Awarded More Money for Kraft Heinz Expansion

The state has awarded Kirksville additional money to help with the Kraft Heinz expansion project.

the Missouri Department of Economic Development on Friday pledged an additional $148,000 toward the project, bringing their total grant to $648,000 for the parking lot construction. The city had previously budgeted about $399,000, not including $129,000 in permit fees for the construction, aqnd K-REDI has also pledged $100,000. The city of Kirksville had previously applied for an Infrastructure Community Development Block Grant from the Missouri Department of Economic Development, but was only awarded partial funding. The total cost of the lot, which will serve both Kraft Heinz’s expansion and future needs, is about $1.87 million.
