Tech Company Makes Proposal for Hangar

Onshore Technology Services LLC wants to try again for an aircraft hangar in Kirksville. The city rejected the information technology company’s proposal in 2017, in which they asked the city to seek a grant to construct a hangar for which it would be the sole tenant and would pay for all utilities. Kirksville’s Airport and Transportation Commission declined the offer. This time, Onshore is requesting the city finance the hangar because they can get lower interest rates. The company would then lease the hanger long-term for the cost of the financing and then purchase the hangar for the remainder of the loan amount at the end of the lease. Onshore says the company’s operations would be beneficial to the city’s economy and would create jobs. The proposal is being reviewed by the city’s attorney, and the commission is holding off on further discussing the proposal until they get more information from OTS
