Stormwater Fee Increase Recommended

Your water bill could be going up. During the Kirksville City Council’s study session, the Finance Director recommended an increase in the city’s stormwater fee in order to keep up with costs. An increase of a dollar to $3.20 per month was suggested. While the city has had an annual rate increase since 2013, in order to fund the construction of its new wastewater treatment plant, utility rates for water, including the service availability fees would not go up this year. During the upcoming City Council meeting on October 15th, there will a public hearing on the proposed stormwater rate increase.
