MoDOT Winter Weather Drill Successful

With snow in the forecast already, the Missouri Department of Transportation took time yesterday to make sure they’re prepared. MoDOT held its statewide drill to train employees how to respond to a simulated major snow forecast. It was the chance for employees to test equipment, make sure everything is working and clean it properly. Employees also reviewed plowing techniques and safety measures State Maintenance Engineer Becky Allmeroth, says more than 3,500 MoDOT employees are involved in ensuring roads and bridges are cleared as quickly as possible when winter weather hits. MoDOT officials want to remind everyone that if you see snow plows out on the roads – give the the full hundred feet of space behind them.

The National Weather Service is forecasting snow for the area late tonight with the possibility of 1-3 inches of accumulation.
