Kirksville Holding Full Scale Exercise

Tomorrow, Kirksville will be holding its first ever full-scale emergency management exercise specifically related to the Emergency Operations Center. The scenario, set in early May, involves a long-track EF-4 tornado that touches down at Troy Mills, enters/exits Kirksville on the ground, continuing for five more miles into the County. This exercise will require a full activation of the Emergency Operations Center. This exercise is a limited full scale exercise, planned for four hours at the Kirksville/Adair County EOC. Exercise play is limited to those who physically respond to a real time activation at the EOC. Objectives include: Assessomg the adequacy of real time local EOC call-out procedures/communications, and familiarizing participants with the complexity of issues associated with responding to, setting up, and staffing an EOC during times of crisis.
