NECAC Unable to Process USDA Home Loans Due to Government Shutdown

The ongoing stand-off over a border wall in Washington-DC is having an impact on some people trying to buy a home in Northeast Missouri. Officials with the North East Community Action Corporation say there are families that have been approved for USDA loans for homes, but since the shutdown has closed the USDA that money can’t be handed out.NECAC says that although USDA loans can’t be procesed, many of their other programs that help people locally were funded before the shutdown began. Programs that NECAC provides that continue to have funding include utility assistance, community services, housing and rental assistance, and client services.
