3 Charged Following High Speed Pursuit in Macon County

Three people from St Joseph are facing multiple charges following a high speed chase in Macon County. According to a press release, on Friday, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed going east on Highway 36. During a pursuit, the vehicle reached speeds of over 100 mph. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and was disabled after the original driver switched places with a passenger. The initial driver, 25-year-old Richey R. Farmer, who had an active warrant from the US Marshal Service, is formally charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, felony resisting arrest, felony unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon along with multiple misdemeanors. The other driver, 26-year-old Billie J. Mollett is charged with 3 counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and unlawful use of a weapon. The third person in the vehicle, 29-year-old Bronson E. Vestal, is charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon.
