Vandals of Historic Union Covered Bridge in Monroe County Caught

State Park Rangers said they’ve caught the individuals responsible for defacing the historic Union Covered Bridge in Monroe County. The three people involved were caught on camera and were identified as the photos were posted online. The vandalism occurred around 3:30 p.m. on December 31, 2019 and was discovered on January 2. The vandals left four signatures on the bridge. Rangers said it’s a violation of the Missouri State Statute to deface historic sites, and could land you with a misdemeanor. The names of the suspects are not being released because they’re juveniles.
