NEMO Man Arrested After High Speed Pursuit

A Northeast Missouri man was arrested following a high speed pursuit through five counties. 37-yearly Matthew Guilford, of Brookfield, was wanted on a warrant out of Linn County for felony possession of a controlled substance and felony trafficking drugs, and a federal parole warrant for the original charge of felon in possession of a firearm. Authorities stated they believe Guilford may have been involved in a recent armed robbery as well. The pursuit began Tuesday afternoon when a Linn County deputy attempted to stop Gilford. He refused to stop and traveled through Linn, Livingston, Carroll, Lafayette, and Saline Counties. Spike stips were used to end the pursuit and Guilford was taken into custody without incident.
