KPD Says Celebrate Independence Legally With Fireworks

Residents are being reminded to celebrate the July 4th holiday legally with fireworks. The Kirksville’s Police Department says the discharging of fireworks inside the City limits will be legal starting June 30th, and will continue through July 5th Fireworks can only be discharged between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:00 pm and on your own property. Police can have you cease setting off fireworks if a complaint is received and verified by police for disturbance of the peace of surrounding neighbors. Additionally, it is unlawful to throw fireworks out of vehicles, or under vehicles, and especially at other people or on a public street or other public place within the City.
