Adair County Health Department Administrator Commends The Pines

The Pines is being commended for their actions which prevented the spread of COVID-19. Upon learning of the positive test result of an employee on July 21, the facility tested all employees and residents twice and restricted access to the facility. When an 80-year-old resident tested positive in the second round of testing, he was quarantined immediately to limit potential exposure. After 2 more rounds of testing on the resident came back negative, it was determined his case was a false positive. Justin Puckett, D.O., the physician advisor to the local Emergency Operations Command for COVID-19, said the resident never exhibited symptoms of COVID-19. Jim LeBaron, administrator of the Adair County Health Department says The Pines did everything right, adding that their immediate, decisive action was critical in keeping the virus from spreading through the facility.
