Showing off online means prison time. A Columbia, Missouri man went on Snapchat and showed off illegal drugs and guns. So, Chauncey Howard was arrested on federal charges. He admitted to posing with the items and could get a long prison stretch when he’s sentenced.

Moberly Teen Hurt In Wreck
A teenager from Moberly suffered moderate injuries in a wreck in Ste. Genevieve county. 19 year old Daniel J. Whitson, lost control of his pick-up Wednesday night and hit a tree. The Patrol says Whitson was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis.

The product with those code numbers can be associated with salmonella
In addition to the Jif recall, Coblentz Chocolate Company of Walnut Creek, Ohio, is recalling certain peanut butter products due to the potential of salmonella contamination.
The Coblentz Chocolate Company is no longer using Jif Peanut Butter.

Murder At McDonalds. Trial Rescheduled
A new trial date set for a Moberly woman accused of murder. 30-year-old Angelica Benitez was supposed to go on trial Tuesday. But now it has been moved to August. She’s charged with killing 25 year old Marqukis Hayes in 2020, shooting him in the face, as they drove through a McDonalds. His body was later found miles away in a truck.

Health Department Says We’re Still Not Covid-Free
Vacation season is here. For many it’s a declaration of independence against covid.
But the Adair county health department says not so fast.
Administrator Jim LeBaron says it’s true that there aren’t that many cases, but the virus is still here, and people are still getting sick. He suggests that if you are elderly or have a health condition that makes you more susceptible to severe symptoms — then you may still want to conside precautions such as wearing a mask.
And the federal government has just opened requests for a third round of at-home rapid test kits shipped to you for free. Just go online and ask for them.
Free Boat Safety Checks
Kirksville Police are doing free boating inspections this Saturday at Thousand Hills State Park from 9:30 to 11:30.
They will inspect your boat, no violation tickets to be written, instead the goal is to get your boat ready for safe fun on the water this summer
Voting Districts Finalized
New voting districts for electing members of Congress are now official in Missouri. The governor signed the plan Wednesday.
The districts are drawn so that Republicans have the advantage is six districts — Democrats in two. That means the state would likely elect six Republicans and two Democrats to the U.S. House.
Missouri is one of the last states in the nation to approve new voting districts.
Health Department: Order Free Covid Tests
The Adair County Health Department reminds you that free covid-home tests are again available from Uncle Sam. All you have to do is go online and ask for them at covid.gov/tests. The kit contains eight tests and they are delivered by mail. The Health Department encourages every household in Adair County to take advantage of the opportunity.
You Don’t Have To Bow Your Head At City Council Meetings
No prayer — just a moment of silence.
Kirksville city council voted 3 to 2 not to once again open meetings in prayer, a practice that was stopped last June.
So, meetings will start with the mission statement being read…then a quiet moment. But no one will pray out loud.
