Another Adair County Covid Death

The Adair County Health Department confirms the 50th covid death on Friday. A 60 year old man — who had been vaccinated — passed away. Also on Friday, 47 new cases reported. The Health Department also reminds you that they have a covid-vaccine clinic set for tomorrow for adults. Call and make an appointment, if you want to get a shot.

The Sullivan County Health Department says they heave 11 new cases of COVID-19 — that number reported on Friday.

It means that 49 cases are active at the moment. And, 20 have died in Sullivan county since the pandemic started.

Missouri Couple Sentenced In DC Riot

A man and woman from Missouri will not go to prison for taking part in the riot on Capitol Hill last year.

But they will have to stay home.

Zachary Wilson gets 45 days of home detention, and Kelsey Wilson gets 30 days. There is also some community service involved, and they each have to pay $500 for damages at the capitol.

The couple is from Springfileld. They apologized, telling the court they got caught up in the crowd.

Covid Cases Climb; One Area Hospital Running Short Of Tests

Covid count: In Adair county yesterday, 66 new cases reported. And about 20% of the new cases are people who’ve been vaccinated.

There was a wide age range in the latest cases of those reported to have the virus — from 3 months to 84 years old.

In Sullivan county, 17 new cases confirmed.

Meantime, a shortage of covid tests. Scotland county hospital says they’re running low on test kits…so, now you can’t just walk in and be tested. The hospital is limiting the tests to people who actually have symptoms.

Grain Truck Overturns Near Macon

A truck hauling grain flipped over Tuesday afternoon near Macon on Route DD. The driver, 47 year old Donnie Corbin had moderate injuries. The patrol says the wheels on the trailer locked, and Corbin ran off the road, then flipped over — spilling the grain.

Debate Over Forcing Workers To Get Vaxed In Missouri

A state House committee considered several bills this week that would stop businesses from requiring employees to take covid shots. Many Republicans favor the bill.

But the Missouri Chamber of Commerce says it should be up to employers to decide. President Biden’s mandate that businesses force workers to be vaccinated was thrown out by the Supreme Court.

Now Three Dead From Kirksville Shooting

Another victim has now died from a Kirksville shooting last month at an apartment on West Dodson, bringing the total to three dead and one wounded.

Alissa Anders is the latest victim of the shooting to die. She was pregnant at the time, her child delivered by doctors. The other two victims were an 18 month old boy and a 22 year old man. A 4th person who was wounded is recovering.

There is still no word on why the four were shot. The accused killers have been identified as 52 year old Ray Rijos, and 22 year old Anquan Glover.

Covid Vax Clinics Scheduled

Covid count: 55 new cases of COVID-19 in Adair county yesterday.

Meantime, the Adair County Health Department will continue having vaccine clinics every Tuesday and Thursday in February. The Tuesday clinics are for adults. While the Thursday clinics are for kids. All of the clinics to be held at the health department, and you need to call for an appointment.

For those who are getting a first or second shot, they may get a $50 gift card to a local retailer.

In And Out Of Jail Because Of Covid

In St. Louis, a man let out of jail because he had covid, has now been arrested again. 36-year-old Mac Payne was released from the downtown jail last week because of an order regarding covid and the jail issued by the mayor.

Police were upset because they believed Payne to be dangerous.

So, he was arrested again Friday. But a judge allowed him to post a 2,000 bond and get out again. He has pleaded not guilty to the domestic assault charges.

Adair Covid Cases Over A Hundred On Monday

Monday Covid Count: There were 105 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Adair county on Monday. 16 of the cases in local K-12 schools. And 14 of the cases were in people who have been vaccinated.

An adult vaccination clinic is scheduled for today (the 25th) at the health department. Call and schedule an appointment. In Sullivan County, the Health Department says18 new cases of the virus yesterday.

Meantime, in Macon County the Health Department will have two COVID-19 vaccine clinics this week. Pfizer vaccine on Wednesday, then on Thursday a clinic for all three — Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines

One Out Of Four With Covid Locally Were Vaxed

78 new cases Friday in Adair county as the virus continues to spread. Twenty of the new cases…or 25%…were people who were vaccinated.

Among the new cases…kids ranging in age from 2 to 7.

There is an adult vaccination clinic scheduled for Tuesday the 25th in Adair county. Call the health department to reserve a spot for the shot.
