Rough Week-end On The Roads — Including A Double Fatality

Three serious accidents in the area over the past week-end. One of them, a double fatal.

In that wreck, a man and his son were killed Saturday morning on Route J in Adair county. The patrol says 80 year old Robert Patchin and 54 year old Charles Patchin died…when their truck ran off the road…went into the air and hit an embankment. Both men thrown out of the pick-up. The younger Patchin was driving and neither of the men wore a seat belt.

A Kirksville man was badly hurt Saturday in a motorcyle wreck on Highway 63 in Macon County. The State Patrol says 23 year old David Sizemore ran off the road and was thrown off. He was not wearing a helmet. He’s listed with serious injuries at University Hospital.

And another accident Satruday afternoon near Green City. A pick-up truck trying to pass, hit a farm tractor that was making a keft turn on Highway 129. The 25 year old drving the truck, Jerold Robertson had moderate injuries. The man on the tractor, not hurt.
