The Kirksville Water Treatment Plant’s ground storage tank is back in service after a two month repair project.

Public Works director John Buckwalter says after the roof was fixed the tank was sandblasted and painted. The project cost 380-thousand dollars.

Buckwalter says the department borrowed the money from the state’s revolving loan fund. Rate payers will need to pay back the loan over time. Buckwalter says the tank repair project will not in and of itself result in higher rates.
