Kirksville school board members want to make sure the district’s technology plan is moving things toward the right goalposts. The board last week signed off on a 25-thousand dollar contract with a Kansas City-based tech consulting firm to review technology use and implementation. K12 ITC will also provide tech-related help desk services as the district enters the second year of its three-year technology plan.
The plan is for K12 ITC tech consultants to arrive on campus in the coming weeks to conduct a holistic assessment of where the district stands both in infrastructure, development and use of technology but then also where it can go from here. It’s a step intended to lead to future growth and tech use as the district navigates its first year with campus-wide wireless internet access. But the tech team is not expected to present specific plans for consideration, as a similar insurance adviser did with the district’s health plan. K12 ITC will instead provide an informational piece that can be used in conjunction with the overall tech plan.
