An event soon will introduce those interested to the new advanced imaging capabilities at Northeast Regional Medical Center. ONCAD is a technology that provides automatic margin analysis of suspicious lesions. The scanner uses a computer algorithm to identify margins, texture and other facets of lesions that are suspected of indicating developing problems in tissue. The scanner improves detection of both invasive and non-invasive lesions. The system is used in conjunction with a Breast MRI. An afternoon tea will happen at NEMO next Tuesday from 2 until 3:30 to introduce area residents to the technology and answer any questions.
