Lane closures are coming up near Chillicothe next month because of railroad bridge work. Contractors for Canadian Pacific Railroad will start working on November 6th on the railroad bridge over U-S Highway 36 just east of U-S Highway 65 near Chillicothe. The work being done by the contractors will necessitate lane closures on U.S. Hwy 36 where it runs under the railroad. One lane of U.S. Hwy 36 will remain open in each direction during the work. The planned work will take place during daylight hours and should take less than a week to complete. All work is weather permitting. MoDot encourages all drivers to slow down, buckle up, and drive safely through work zones to make sure everyone can Arrive Alive. if you want more information about that project or others, go online to modot.org/northwest and check out the traveler information map.
