Gov. Jay Nixon was in Kirksville Friday to recognize the school district and its students for their continued academic achievement. Kirksville Public Schools scored a 94.6 percent on the Missouri School Improvement Program 2013 Annual Performance Report. The district’s graduation rate, percentage of graduates who have gone on to higher education, and composite ACT score continue to be consistently higher than the state average. The Governor also recognized Kirksville High School for its A+ designation, which allows qualified students to apply for scholarships for two years of tuition and fees at any of Missouri’s community colleges.
