Kirksville’s City Council quickly conducted its regular business at last night’s meeting, approving the few motions on their table in just a few minutes, before returning to study session talks concerning this coming year’s budget. Those talks started Monday afternoon, and will go on until the Budget’s final due date December 16th. With the budget’s first public hearing coming at the next Council Meeting December 2nd. Kirksville Mayor Richard Detweiler seemed optimistic about the budget progress, and mentioned Kirksville’s new Water Treatment Plant project, and the need for two new police cars as a few of the bigger expenditures anticipated in the year ahead.
