Students Take Pledge

Some local high school students took a safe driving pledge Tuesday.

{KIRX-112713-STUDENT Driving Pledge}

The students at Novinger High School took the pledge after hearing the heartbreaking story of Kayle Denny who had life changing experience thanks to a car wreck.  She encouraged the kids to slow down and to make sure that everyone in the car is buckled-up.  A timely and much-needed message, considering teens in Missouri have one of the worst rates in the country for seat belt usage. Denny told the kids that if they get into a wreck and someone who wasn’t buckled-up is killed — it’s a weight they will bear the rest of their life.
