Hunters shot over 157-thousand deer during the November Portion of Missouri’s Firearms Deer Season. Biologists with the Missouri Department of Conservation say this is a significant decrease from last year and from the long-term average. Scotland County hunters bagged 1,611 deer, including 614 antlered bucks. That is down more than 500 deer from last year’s total. Adair County hunters checked in 1,964 deer while Clark County had 1,577 deer harvested. The totals for Knox County were 1,578 deer with Schuyler County reporting the lowest harvest at 1,006 deer. This year’s November harvest is 23 percent fewer than in 2012, and 24 percent below the past 10-year average.
