When kids return to schools following the upcoming Christmas break, they may notice a few new things at Kirksville schools. Then again, the projects approved by the R-III School Board last week are more the kind of things one doesn’t notice, unless they aren’t working. Projects will include door replacement at Ray Miller Elementary and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning repairs at the high school. At Ray Miller, two new security doors will replace the current and broken 15-year-old doors. Superintendent Patrick Williams said the preventive maintenance on the high school’s air handlers will assist with efficiency and reliability ahead of the winter heating months.
