Local small business support groups are hosting a “first steps” class aimed at helping small businesses succeed. The three-hour seminar is being hosted by the Missouri Rural Enterprise & Innovation Center along with the Missouri Small Business & Technology Development Centers, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the USDA and Truman State University.
The event is set for Jan. 30, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Economic Development Alliance at 215 S. Franklin St. That’s two weeks from tomorrow. The seminar will provide an overview of the first steps to starting a new business. In a release, the organizers said participants will learn how to assess their strengths and weaknesses in terms of business ownership, learn the importance of planning, discuss legal and regulatory requirements and identify sources of funding.
