Residents Cite Concerns at Public Hearing on Ameren Rate Request

Several Kirksville residents showed up to the Missouri Public Service Commission’s public hearing last night. The hearing was over an electric rate case filed by Ameren Missouri. .If approved, customers would pay about $99 more per year. This following a $3 per month rate increase that was granted to help Ameren recover costs of its Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act programs. Residents cited concerns about how another increase would affect low income families, and wondered if Ameren couldn’t do more to tighten their budget before asking for more from their customers.
