Children Injured in Macon County Crash

Children were among the injured in a crash in Macon County. The two-vehicle accident occured yesterday morning. The accident report states that 56-year-old Harry Rhoades of Macon, was driving westbound on US 63, when he failed to yield and struck the driver’s side of a southbound vehicle driven by 50-year-old Vickie Thompson of Callao. Three children in Thompson’s vehicle, including an 8-year-old child and two infants suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. Thompson and a 30-year-old occupant in her vehicle suffered only minor injuries. Troop B of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Macon County Fire and Rescue and Macon County Ambulance all responded to the crash.
