Brunswick Begins Cleanup from Flooding

A Northeast Missouri city continues to dry out and officials are getting a better idea of the damage caused by flooding. Brunswick Police Chief Kenny Clark said he believes about 80 homes in town sustained damage. Those homes have been tagged, and homeowners have to follow FEMA guidlines and contact the city to schedule an inspection. The city began the cleanup process over the weekend as volunteers were collecting sandbags that were contaminated by floodwaters, and collecting the debris brought into town by the floodwaters. An inmate crew from Moberly Correctional Center assisted over the weekend by using shovels to scoop up and remove contaminated mud and items left behind by the water.
