Put a tax on marijuana. Voters yesterday overwhelmingly approved a 3% tax on pot sales in both the city of kirksville and in Adair county. A 3% tax on weed in both.
Other election results: two incumbents re-elected to the Kirksville city council. Jennifer Walston and Rick Steele.
The winners in the school board race — incumbents Nan Davis and Jeremy Houser — also elected to the board, Amy Clendennon.
Other races of interest: On the Novenger R-1 school board Chante McKim, Troy Smith, and Aaron Chapman won.
The Brashear R-2 school board, the winners are Michael Robeson, Monte Fisher, and Sarah Erwin. And Brashear School Prop-2 also passed easily.
