New year means new minimum wage

The new year means new laws take effect in Missouri. The minimum wage for all private and non-exempt businesses goes from $12 an hour to $12.30 an hour. Employers are required to pay tipped employees at least 50 percent of the minimum wage, $6.15 per hour, plus any amount necessary to bring the employee’s total compensation to a minimum of $12.30 per hour.
